We want more people engaging with museum collections in ways that matter to them. We want visitors to understand the layered, complex stories behind objects—not just the sanitized versions. We want museums to be honest about what they know, what they don't know, and whose voices have been left out of the conversation. And we want to make it easier for museums with limited resources to create these kinds of experiences. Ultimately, this is about building better relationships between museums, the objects they hold, and the communities those objects come from.
